World Publishing Corporation (WPC) is a publishing group with four branches in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Xi’an. Aiming at introducing the world to China and China to the world, it is specialized in publishing and distributing reprint and translation editions of overseas books and periodicals in China through right license contracts with publishers abroad.

In addition to translating and reprinting publications about medicine, linguistics, biology, agriculture and reference, Xi’an World Publishing Corp. also publishes books about science & technology, economic management, linguistic learning, reference books and cyclopaedia written by Chinese authors. The corporation’s operating concept is to promote exchanges of cultural, to advance the development of science & technology, and to provide cultural products with high quality.

Since it’s founding in 1992, the corporation has initially formed its characteristics in publishing books on medicine and linguistics, and through this efforts its has established its brand image. By far, it has published over 1000 titles, more than 400 kinds of science and technology periodicals, over 100 sorts of a/v products and 25 kinds of multimedia products. In recent years, Xi’an World Publishing Corp. has translated and published lots of world medical masterpieces including 《Cecil Textbook of Medicine》、《Nelson Textbook of Pediatrics》、《Williams Obstetrics》、《Maingot’s Abdominal Operations》、《Surgical Practice Illustrated Series》; organized domestic experts to edit a series of popular medicine books 《Wonder cures A-Z by master doctors》; published Chinese traditional medical masterpieces including 《The Vernacular Detailed Outline of Chinese Materia Medica》、《The Vernacular Hangdi Neijing》、《The Cream of Famous Practitioner of Chinese Medicine》. On the other hand, it has published《English Reader 3·6·9—Primary·Junior·Senior》、《Build-up GRE Vocabulary》、《Build-up English Vocabulary》 concerning linguistics, and《A Sigillographical Dictionary of the Modern Chinese Painters and Calligraphers》、《A Calligraphic Dictionary of Yu Youren》、《A Calligraphic Dictionary of Yan Zhenqing》 concerning art references. In addition, to accelerate the development of publishing industrialization, the corporation has established some subsidiaries such as Printing Factory of Xi’an World Publishing Corp., Color Printing Center of Xi’an World Publishing Corp., Medical Club of Xi’an World Publishing Corp.
